Incase anyone missed it,…here’s a quick run down of what was announced from today’s Apple event. (which actually started at a reasonable time, didn’t have to wait until 1am to start watching it!)…..
New MacBook Air Now with Retina Display, still 13” Has the new “butterfly keyboard”, larger multi-touch trackpad, 2x Thunderbolt3/USB-C ports and headphone socket. Now comes in Space Grey, Silver and Gold. Also has the T2 Security Chip with Touch ID. Pricing starts at $1849 (and you can even take it from a 512GB SSD to a huge 1.5TB SSD! Now with 4 or 6 core processors and up to 64GB RAM. All SSD storage. Also has the T2 security chip, 4x Thunderbolt3/USB-C ports, HDMI, 2xUSB-A ports and Gigabit Ethernet (with an option to swap it to 10GB Ethernet). Now in 11” and 12.9” slim bezel and FaceID. Edge to edge “Liquid Retina”, no home button - FaceID and magnetic support for the new Apple Pencil 2 ($199). (the Apple pencil 2 “clicks” to the display and also wirelessly charges it at the same time! Now has USB-C to charge and run it. You can even “off charge” your iPhone directly from your iPad with a USB-C to lightning cable! Plus it will run a display directly from the iPad! And gives it a lot more options for connectivity. Slimmer, thinner and lighter! And faster of course! With better graphics and more….. Pricing starts at $1229 for the 11” model and starting from $1529 for the 12.9” model. Available in Silver or Space Grey. (seems they dropped the Gold colours).
