It seems the Satellite view over Perth has been updated very recently:
with in the past week at some stage it seems. Optus Arena is no longer
a barren building site, and Elizabeth Quay has most of it’s buildings
in place. The 3D view is finally interesting again. I haven't had time
do do much more exploring, but there’s no reason to believe that the
rest of the map has not been updated accordingly. It might actually now
be possible to start making sense of some of the spaghetti-like road
intersections springing up around the place. The changes are not recent
enough to show the work being sone on the Perth-Armadale train line,
but at least the maps are no longer over 5 years old.
