How are your earphones connected: wired or wireless? If wired all sound output should be sent through the earphones rather than the speaker. If wireless, your earphones need to be paired with the phone and you need to be wearing them, which brings its own set of problems if you're wanting a wakeup alarm. I don’t know of a way which guarantees that the earphones will stay in your ears while you sleep, wired or not.
