See lib/framework/mem.h Well the above change basically is meant to make sure memory allocated with malloc is released with free, and MALLOC with FREE.
And apart from that, I don't rely on my pointer being NULL after a call to free. Which IMO is nicer than to do rely on that. -- Giel
