Details:

These patches (for trunk and 2.0) change the terrain rendering to use quads
(well, triangle strips with four vertices) instead of triangles. This will
save one glBegin/End call per tile, and upload four instead of six vertices.

(The trunk patch itself is quite unreadable, if you want to see the changes,
open display3d.c twice, once with and once without the patch. Surprisingly,
the code in 2.0 was more readable.)
