Details:
I'm trying to install version 2.1.0 from the Gentoo ebuild, and the compile
dies. Filed a bug with the Gentoo bug system a few days ago (bug #253308),
but haven't seen a response so far.
Excerpt from the compile pasted below; I realize this might not be much to go
on but I don't know what else might be helpful, can provide further info with
prompting.
