The only reason why lua is not being used as a replacement for other parts
of the evil bison/flex chain is the lack of manpower to do it. Replacing
wzscript is more urgent because it is so hard to debug and maintain. The
other "scripts" are simpler and change less often, so much less urgent.
You are correct that nobody is currently working on the conversion script.
The one person who used to work on the lua branch is away for a while. You
would be very welcome to work on it.
Ticket discussions are not automatically sent to the mailing list, which
