#1596: Pause doesn't pause research

When I press Esc during a skirmish with computer opponents, the opposing
teams still appear to be researching and creating new build designs. So,
when I come back to the game - some hours later - they are well ahead of
me and have new types of tanks. They don't appear to have been building
anything (structures/units) but only have new tech and builds. If I press
Esc, then choose save/load (to cancel-out of later), it appears to pause
correctly.
Sorry, I have no idea which version I'm using. Is there some place in-
game that can I find out?
