#1766: No substitute font settings for Chinese font

I am a chinese user with Ubuntu lucid and got version 2.2.4 by apt-get. As
Im using Chinese locale, it appears blocks - because DejaVu do not have
those glyphs.
I tried to modify the config in my folder but not good, if I choose a
chinese font it appears no text in the menu.
PS: I've never met this type of problem before, I mean in other FOSS
games...
