AFAIK Ubuntu pulls in from Debian testing into their own pre-release
(testing equivalent) version, which later on becomes their stable
release.

You do know that testing is what eventually becomes stable?  So if we'd
never want to be in stable we shouldn't be in testing to begin with.

Aside from that, people that use stable usually use it for its stability
and are quite aware of the fact that most software they run is far from
the bleeding edge.

So my vote would be to leave it as it is right now.
