backport r8359 "Switched fontconfig question from scary pop-up message to NLS
sub-feature (closes #1034)."
backport r8360 "Put autorevision.h into builddir, not srcdir.
This makes "make distcheck" complete successfully (after an initial "make" run,
since otherwise some of the lex/yacc files are not generated)."
