This is not a problem. They do not apply to the same work.

The way I read it, it would only apply to stats and level data
(anything that could be stricly understood as a sequel - as sequels
are derivative works).

The comment inside the parenthesis does not follow. A mod can be a
compilation of works under different licenses, where only those works
that are derivative need to be GPL.
