#3990: DWARF-2 expression error: DW_OP_reg operations

I have only seen this so far when playing the "Back to basics" challenge.
I will try it with other skirmish scenarios to see if it occurs there as
as well.
The crash occurs consistently at about the time the player gets to a tech
level to support VTOL. In each case the spawn point was moved to the top
of the center mountain in the middle of the dividing ridge in the map. The
VTOL factory was built on top of the left (West?) side of the dividing
ridge.
Issue appears to be similar to ticket #3255 (open) and possibly related to
ticket #3339 (closed).
The machine is a Dell Optiplex 755 Core 2 Duo w/ 4GB RAM running Ubuntu
10.04. The video card is an ATI RV516 (Radeon X1300). The correct drivers
are installed.
