The OpenSSL license is incompatible with the GNU GPLv2 license, which
means that binaries of master cannot be redistributed by Linux distros.

I think this bug should be assigned to Cyp and the milestone set to Next
release.
There are a number of alternative crypto libraries, nettle is the
recommended one.
