With Watir 1.6.2 you don't have to change anything. You stil work with IE
right?
and here is your bug:
plugin = control.browser.Attach(browser.browser) # <===== should be
browser.ie

But this gives an error:

in `method_missing': unknown property or method `browser' # <= IE class does
not have browser method
