I also experienced the same problem using WinXP SP3 + IE8.x

Followed install instructions and tried to check watir version (i.e.
ruby -e 'require "watir"; puts Watir::IE::VERSION' on command line):

-e:1: no such file to load -- watir/ie (LoadError)
