Though the below link is old:- http://wiki.openqa.org/display/WTR/FireWatir+Release+Notes It says"Modal Dialog is not supported on Firefox, so it is not supported by FireWatir as well. Need to check if there are any alternatives methods available to support modal dialog on Firefox browser." But to my "not so pleasant" surprise the modal dialog box on my application works perfectly well on mozilla too...
