Yes, I think so. For us the integration was easily because we were using GWT and Guice already. I think that the current Wave code can be improved to help this kind of integrations. We send some patches in that direction, but more things can be done. For instance, we have some custom patches of Wave and we prefer if the integration will be possible out of the box. Also there is not documentation about how to integrate Wave in other apps, so it was hard for us to achieve it. About scalability, IMHO Apache Wave is not currently scalable and weak exactly in the parts that were not released by google, that is, delta persistence, searching, etc, and we have to put our efforts there.
