To start with, I'll apologize if this is in the wrong place.
I tried posting before and it didn't get though for some reason. (I
hope this isn't being considered spam :( )

Having recently played about with wave, I wanted to ask a lot of
questions and post a lot of
feedback...but I didn't know where exactly to do that!
So for my questions I'll post here, if there's a better place to do
this, please let me know :)
(still don't know the best place to put feedback on the current client
though)

My questions mostly concern the possibility's of wave-protocol being
used for non-text based communication. Specifically being adapted for
Augmented Reality use. I wrote a rough paper (http://
www.ugotrade.com/
2009/08/19/everything-everywhere-thomas-wrobels-proposal-for-an-open-
augmented-reality-network/ or
http://www.darkflame.co.uk/sharespace/AR_paper.pdf)
on the idea of using existing protocols to establish a shared and open
3d view of the world.
That focused on IRC as a way to exchange data on multiple publicly-
submittable channels. But at the end I queried that GoogleWave might
be
more appropriate. (Specifically because wave can support a hybrid of
chat-like data, and more perminate wiki-style information). So Id like
to ask some questions that would help me get clear in my head the
possibility's of wave protocol being used for this purpose.

Anyway, enough with that preamble and on with a few questions;

1) What is the estimated data rate between clients looking at a wave?
For example, if one person edits a character or two in a string, how
quickly do the others see it? It seems fairly fast, but is there any
rough figures for this?
(Imagine if the text is specifying co-ordinates to place a 3D mesh,
the speed of update of the co-ordinates would determine how smoothly
the mesh could move, and thus the sorts of applications a AR-browser
based on WaveProtocal could be used for).

2) Will wave, at some point, allow the uploading of various file
types? I notice the ability to search by MIME type, so I assume
things other then Image is planned at some point. The ability to host
even modest sized 3d mesh files would open up a lot of possibility's.
(obviously this could be expanded for paid-for services as well, where
people get more hosting space on their google accounts....or whoever
else is hosting the wave sever being used).

2b) Is it conceivable at some point for people to self-host data? Like
a user keeping a large file in a google-gears database, and is only
accessible to other people ver their wave while their online? (most
useful for larger files, or perhaps something only applicable to the
person themselves, like a 3d mesh used for an avatar). Effectively
this possibility makes google wave also possible to do the sorts of
sever-like things Opera's Unite is doing.

3) Permissions are clearly still being worked on; Do we know yet if
these will work on a wave level/user level, or is it planned to be
more granular...allowing individual reply strings to be set as read
only by their creator? (or preferably even allowing only specific
people to edit specific things). Clearly this could get fractularly
more complex to implement in a GUI in an intuitive way, but it would
be nice if the protocal itself supported a wide range of permission/
edit possibilities.

Thanks for any answers to these questions, or redirecting me to other
places to ask them.
I'm very impressed with what Ive seen of wave so far, and cant wait to
see what the future brings.
