The only thing that puzzles me at the moment is why you need both:

_xmpp-server._tcp.wave.microcomaustralia.com.au SRV

and

wave.microcomaustralia.com.au A

I would have thought that one or the other would make the other redundant.

I appreciate the point the the SRV record can contain a reference to the port
number, but the A record can't.

I guess this should also mean (at least in theory) it is possible to run
multiple servers on one IP address, with different ports.
