The docs state:

"As the work on the protocol progresses one of the test servers will
be transitioned to only accept CA-issued certificates."

To me this implies that currently self-signed certs will work just
fine but maybe in the future CA-issued will be required. What do you
think? Anybody from Google around to clarify?
