OK, my server is really working again.
A BIG warning to others: it seems like under certain circumstances
there is only one request for the "disco#items" list of JIDs. If you
don't disable your extra Openfire services (pubsub, chatroom) before
trying and failing to connect, you may be unable to connect with a
server until that server is restarted: so you may have to get things
right the first time!
