Right now there's a working server and client, albeit without persistence and without user authentication. There's a couple of outstanding patches in the codereview.waveprotocol.org patch tracker that add persistence, one using MongoDB and one using JDBC. I have a partial patch that I wrote on the plane flight to Google I/O that adds user authentication using Jetty's user auth code that still needs polishing and updating. I don't have an exact ETA, I'm afraid, other than "as soon as we can get it done".
