Sigh. Possibly there's an issue related to the two different ways of setting up Eclipse projects. I always create a new "Java Project" then "Create from existing source", point at my checkout, and everything just works.
Can you try that? I'm aware that there's confusion over the right way to create the project and we need to sort out a correct way.
