Yes you may be right a domain specific more declarative language might be safer. This is just blue sky but I wondering about the possibility of using the advantage of the remote methods without the cost of the actual remoteness. The difficulty is making it not optimistic, or less/ minimally optimistic due to the concurrency of the real outside world. Like a sort of internal pseudo-client relationship where the client is walled in, and outgoings are bounced off it (so it also needs to be concurrent), and any extra delta is then applied and sent out.
