what version of libinput is this? seems to work fine here with git master, but
you can verify this locally:
sudo libinput-debug-events --enable-tap
if that detects the taps as button presses then the issue is elsewhere. the
xinput list-props output in the debian report shows that tapping is enabled
though. please make sure this is still the case.
