I have checked the axes according to
https://wayland.freedesktop.org/libinput/doc/latest/absolute_coordinate_ranges.html
and indeed, the physical dimension reported by the kernel were incorrect and I
have opened a pull request at systemd. However, after testing the updated evdev
rule locally, the problems described in this bug report remain.
I am using today's GIT master compiled from Arch User Repository
