Alexey: yes, this is the bug you're looking for. See comment 48.
Charles: You can get the repo and build it with the event-gui and run that
directly from the repository, without restarting. That should at least give you
a good indication whether the changes will improve (make sure the hwdb is
updated), see the various instructions here:
