That's fine, no worries.
For reference and future visitors from Google, what I found acceptable is to
follow the advice from:

, remove xserver-xorg-input-libinput and use something like:
xinput --set-prop "ETPS/2 Elantech TrackPoint" "Device Accel Constant
Deceleration" 0.2
