Hi Armin K, Thanks for your input. First of all, my workstation is set up so that I have several VMs created to do my development work in, so continuosly rebooting the host is not desirable. Secondly, if I didn't set WAYLAND_DISPLAY, then I would not have reached as far as I have, as explained in that post (re:access denied issue). I should also point out that by setting the WAYLAND_DISPLAY environment variable, weston then uses the wayland backend. Anyhow, I will try using the fbdev backend as you suggest, and post the outcome. Again, many thanks M.J. |
