About throwing chickens, in Don Knott's book "Barney Fife and Other Characters I Have Known" (from Weaver's) he wrote about that. He was so mad that they threw the chickens at him when they filmed the scene. He couldn't stand having the chickens landing on his head. "I before E, except after C and E before N as in Chicken."
