Hey to Tony

You had good thoughts about Thelmer Lou. She was in
the choir when Barney was butchering good ole 14A.
Also, you know she was a good churchgoing women
because she glued covers back onto hymnals with Edgar
Coleman. We never did figure out the deal with
Thelmer Lou and Edgar.

As for the free fudge, Barney was investing shoe
leather walking Miss Rosemary to church. He was even
taking the long way around. By the way, is that
cashew fudge?

Buzz Fluehart

I don't know how I can face the future when I know
there's eight quarts of those pickels in it.

I agree with Allan. After all, this is a TAGS site. A little drifting is
okay, but we're veering too much. As Andy would say, "We're going AWAAAY
yonder too much trouble. Incidentally, is everybody aware that Leonard
Blush's voice is provided by...
Ernest T. Bass?

Just back from vacation and got to see the episode where Aunt Bee's and
Clara's song from a past Flag Day celebration is sung by Keevy Hazelton
on his TV show. I thought this was a color episode but it was in black
and white from a station in Macon, GA at 5:30 in the evening. Prior to
the airing, about an hour earlier, they had a commercial with that song
that says "I'm too sexy for my shirt" (sorry to have to mention a risque
tune), showing our beloved deputy in various scenes, leading in with his
approaching Maude the convict with those smoky eyes to dance with her.
Needless to say we delayed our jaunt out to supper.
We were in Forsyth fixing to visit the Whistle Stop Cafe in Juliette,
where they filmed "Fried Green Tomatoes." We wore our Mayberry tee-shirts
and were noticed by other tourists while there! Everybody loves our
hometown.
Meanwhile, as to unseen places, how about the Pot o' Honey restaurant and
the Spareribs Tavern? And another level for Cyber Barney: Clashing
cymbals just for the mayor's ears! And I love that darling child who
changes his opinion of the game after a few episodes; such a sweet voice
and smile.

Praying mightily for our Andy, Aunt Bee of Orlando

<<I do remember ole 'barn walkin
outta his way to escort another young lady to morning worship...remember
who?>>

I remember that episode. Wasn't Barney about to turn in his resignation,
then the lady walked in and
Andy claimed that they were doing a little inventory? I think this was the
episode were a kid wrote:

There once was a deputy named Fife
who carried a gun and a knife
the knife was all rusty
the gunwas all dusty
cause he never caught a crook in his life

Is this the right episode??

By the way, after her previous, borderline poisonous, attempts at canning
with pickles and marmalade, why would Andy give Aunt Bee jars for canning?
That's like Rosie O'Donnell presenting Charlton Heston with a new revolver
ofr his birthday.

Howdy, Tony!

I hope you made a LOT of extra fudge (I like mine with nuts) because you're
gonna get a lot of right answers to the question, "Who did Barney
go out of his way to walk to church?"
It was Miss Rosemary. A fine lady with a fine character. That's important
to a man.
I live down in Ozark, AL. I receive gold trucks. But a pan of pecan fudge
with a Dr. Pepper sounds mighty good! Just wrap it up and mail to
me, and perhaps it'll help me feel better after a bad hair experience.
Laura Lee Hobbs, no longer the natural blonde the good Lord created me,
but I will be soon enough.

Does anyone know what happens to the props used during filming? I was
wondering
if any of the props that were used on the Andy griffith show are out there
somewhere
for sale. Wouldn't everyone love to own the actual deputy badge that
Barney wore??

What happens to this sort of stuff??

An episode that makes me cry is "Opie and the Bully."

When Opie's about to leave the house and we all know he's going to stand up
to the bully who's been taking his milk money, and Andy picks him up and
gives him that big hug . . . Forget about it. Sinks me every time.

But then, as my son says, I cry at long distance telephone commercials.

<< For many years I have gone to the Squad car rendezvous in Covington, and I
am
glad to hear that it is back this year. Luckily I live less than 30 minutes
from the farm where the filling station replica is located. For a TAGS fan
the event is a must. This is the first I've heard that the event will be
taking place this year. In the past they have had several stars from the
show
there, but the coolest thing is too get your picture taken next to the squad
car parked in front of Wally's service station. The closest I'll ever get to
the streets of Mayberry. Thanks for the info. >>

Remember, the Rendezvous this year is not at the Sheib farm in Bradford Ohio.
It's somewheres else, in Covington Ohio. So Wally's Service Station won't be
there. We wouldn't want folks to show up at the wrong place.
