RE walking ms. rosemary to church - that was a really sweet episode, but I
always thought Ms. Rosemary looked a little long in the tooth for Barney.
Anybody else think that? Also, remember that big blonde chick that was with
ol' Barn at the picnic with Andy and Miss Ellis and Aunt Bea and Opie? Did
she look like she might have been a part-time lady wrestler, or what?

Now, Allan, don't hit me with a leg 'o lamb - he was just waiting for Thelma
Lou to come along, everybody knows that!

RE canning jars - good point, Darrin! Personally, I was glad that Aunt Bea
wasn't perfect at EVERYTHING! Another reason to love her!

Yesterday, a feller told me he was driving through Branson and one of the
theaters was advertising "Rodney Dillard and the Boys from Mayberry." Any
of you folks from the Branson area know anything about this? It sure was
news to me. Maybe this guy mis-read the sign or something. He thought
maybe it was at the 76 Music Hall.

For them that don't know, Rodney Dillard is the guitarist and lead singer of
the Dillards (Mayberry's Darling Boys). He's lived in Branson for many
years.

Re That One Makes Me Cry

You're right about Opie and the Bullie - I always loved that too. And like
you, my darling offspring loved to make fun of me for it - just like Andy
loved to poke fun of Aunt Bea from time to time. But he would never Make Fun
of her, would he - or let anybody "make fun of the little fat mayor," would
he? ;)

Hello All...I've been thoroughly enjoying reading all the comments posted to
the Digest. I've even responded to some of them. This is just a GREAT site.
Now that someone has brought up the poem about Deputy Fife and his rusty
knife, etc., I am reminded of another poem on the show that always makes me
laugh really loudly! Here it is:
When you and I are far apart
I no longer live
My heart is bursting from within
With all my love to give.
That one comes from the episode called "Opie Loves Helen" (#132) and is one
of my all-time favorites!
Helen: Opie, is someone there with you?
Opie to Barney: She wants to know if someone is here with me.
Barney to Opie: Tell her nobody.
Opie to Helen: Barney says nobody.
(Then another of my favorite lines- even though I don't get it.)
Barney to Andy: Well, if it ain't Daddy Longlegs!
Can anyone think of other poems on the show?
Abysinnia, Crystal M.

Thank you Allan and Jan for the wonderful tee shirt and mousepad. I just got
mine today and plan to wear my tee to work on Casual Friday (tomorrow, as a
matter of fact!) I know I will get many comments as I always do when I wear
any of my collection of "TAGS" tees! You guys do a great job with the site
and everything and have my undying appreciation for all you do. Thanks
again!!
To any of you out there who missed out on ordering yours, I hope you get
another chance. You'll LOVE this stuff!

WOW!! That was fast. Jan put most of them in the mail on Wednesday. We've
still got to get about 5 orders of sweatshirts in the mail and we'll have
everybody that ordered (and paid) all set.

We did order a FEW extras but only in sizes L, XL, and 2XL of the tees. We
have plenty of the mousepads left so if anybody needs one of those...you can
be sure you'll get one.

You can go to the WBMUTBB web site to order what's left.

I hope you all like what you get. The tees turned out really good but not
quite as good as the mousepads, in my opinion. They both look great thanks to
Dennis!!!

Enjoy,
Allan

It's a great collection Jeff, but the price is highway robbery. I mean,
don't get me wrong...there are some amazing items in the collection that you
normally couldn't obtain, but $27,000??? That's sick! If anyone pays that
price they're crazy. Sure...most of those items are priceless but if anyone
has the money to pay that price for that stuff I can think of many more
things they can spend it on. >>

Maybe its crazy to you Ben, but not to others. I think Joel has priced it
very fair. Just TRY and find all that stuff amassed somewhere. Its virtually
impossible.

MY Personal thanks to Joel for deligently preserving so many historical
pieces in one collection. I think its great! I wish I could buy it lickety
split. Time will tell.

I've been meaning to write in & say how much I enjoy reading comments
from our favorite Mayberry writer. After noticing on that list of
Mayberry memorabilia that someone had for sale, some scripts from the
show were listed, I was curious as to whether Mr Bullock had saved any
of the scripts that he had written from the show. I can't remember if
anyone had asked this before.
Also in agreement with Allans asking folks to not be unkind in our
comments to one another, I learned both of these as a child.
Politeness is to do & say
The kindest thing in the kindest way.
And the old adage
if you can't say something nice about someone, Don't say anything.

Dear Folks,

Thought you all might be interested in reading an article that will run in
today's Kingsport Times-News. I was shocked to learn that this is the last
year they'll have Mayberry @ Meadowview. Since we're going to be in LA and
miss it, I'm mad, I tell ya, MAD!!! You can't get too much of a good
thing! The stars aren't getting older - they're getting better, so that
excuse is inexcusable. =20

Anyone want to join me in writing a letter of protest? Better yet, where's
Regis? We'll picket the place! :)

So everyone, savor and enjoy the event. What a tragic loss! It's been a
wonderful blessing to live rat cheer, just a stone's throw from Meadowview.
Mayberry was BIG I tell ya, the biggest thing our hick town has ever seen.
The City is always complaining that Meadowview loses money, then they
decide to drop what is probably their biggest and best event. Sheesh!

Anyway, y'all enjoy it while you can. Maybe we'll see everyone at Mayberry
Days.

Love,

Momma (Jeannie)

Aunt Bee of Orlando, so glad you had a good time in our area. That's
WMAZ in Macon that we get our TAGS shot every weekday evening at 5:30.
They have some other commercials that are hilarious, one with the guys
having a jam session while in jail but they edit and piece them so good,
Barney is playing the cymbels in part of it and dancing up a storm in
another part of it, and you know the music isn't from that TAGS
episode. Andy is in our thoughts and prayers too. Mary Grace of

Hey To All,
I think the problem with Aunt Bee canning the pickles was in the way she
spiced up her pickle juice and cucumbers. She wouldn't have had to worry
about the pickle spices if she was canning her summer veggies. Even the
marmalades and jams don't have the spicing the pickles do. From the box of
jars she got she must have been quite a little canner.

Fellas, don't get your girls CANNING JARS for a gift--go for the bed jackets!

 message to the Digest. >>

Hey To All,
I second Paul's suggestion. When I look at my Digest, I tend to look at the
subjects first and more often than not, it shows a bunch of Digest Numbers.
But on the other hand, a time or two I have sent this way as I clicked the
"Send Now" before I remembered to change the subject line.

Allan, is there a way maybe that when you respond the subject could
automatically be in the header with the response? I know when you post to
message boards the header follows.

Not complaining but if I am in a hurry and am looking to see if there is
something I can respond to quickly, it would be a might helpful to see the
subjects. Then I can come back to the Digest later and enjoy it the way it
should be enjoyed...fully and leisurely!

Have a great day all...
Back to the pickle stash!
