Subject: Strange scene

Hey everybody. I was watching the episode today about Convicts-At-Large,
the 3 women convicts. It's one of my many favorites. Anyway, after Andy
talked with Floyd, he was walking back towards the courthouse and noticed
the bus stopping across the street and yelled "hi Mr. Omally" and then he
turned around and Mr. Omally walked right up behind him. I have often
wondered how he was able to get off the bus across the street run across and
come up behind Andy so fast. That scene always looked out of place to me.
If Omally had came from across the street it would have looked better. Has
anyone else ever noticed that? It's great to have others to talk about
these important things about TAGS. See ya later, Horatio(Kevin)

Subject: Quiet Sam

Did anyone notice that Andy knew the exact weight of Sam's
new baby within minutes of the birth? Maybe there was a scale
in the squad car, along with the shovel and rake! Really liked
the epilogue where Johnny Co...oops, I mean Tom Jacobs was
dancing to the music!

Subject: Blacks in Mayberry

A few months back we were all discussing blacks in Mayberry. We talked about
the sidecar of the "motorsickle" scene. Also the scene where Ernest T. tries
to join the army. Tonight I was watching the episode where Barney
accidentally catches the escaped convict and then he breaks loose again. When
Ol' Barn made the first capture, there's a black lady behind Ange! Watch the
tapes enough and you relearn something new. I guess I'm a bird to this
world!!!

Subject: Another Inconsistency

In the same episode where Barney says he "fought the dreaded Hun" (an
inconsistency in itself)and Andy delivered a baby (William Schallert played
the dad), Andy refers to frog dissecting in a biology class he and Barn took
in 1938. Biology is generally taught in high school and in other episodes he
and Barn are said to have graduated in 1944 or 1948, so it 1938 they'd have
been in 5th or 6th grade at the most.

Howdy!

Ted, yesterday you said: As for soda pop...we had a local co., NEHI, that
made an out-of-this-world Creme Soda!

I grew up in South Dakota, and seem to recall enjoying some fantastic grape
and orange pop bottled by a company out of Iowa called NEHI. In fact, I
think the favorite drink of "Radar" on M*A*S*H was a grape NEHI (?), and he
professed to be from Ottumwa Iowa.

Anyway, you are right, Ted .... NEHI made an out-of-this-world bottle of
pop! (that's soda pop for those of you that grew up in a "Southern Mayberry"!)

Thanks Allan, for puting the word "fun" in "fundamentally wholesome family
entertainment"!!!

Subject: For Sale: Jim Nabor's Condo in LA

>From this weekend's LA Times:
Jim Nabors, who became famous in the '60s as the lovable TV character Gomer
Pyle, has listed his Beverly Hills condo at $535,000. The actor-singer
decided to sell because he has lived primarily in Hawaii for 33 years, and
he hardly ever uses his condo, which he has owned since 1978. The building
was built in 1961, but his unit has been completely refurbished. The
west-facing condo, in the rear of the high-rise with city and ocean views,
has three bedrooms in slightly more than 2,000 square feet. The unit also
has a large terrace off the living room.

Nabors, 70, released two CDs of inspirational tunes last year, after
undergoing surgery for a pacemaker and, before that, a liver transplant. A
rich baritone, he sings about once a month with symphonies across the
country. He also sings "Back Home Again in Indiana" at the opening ceremony
of the Indy 500 every year.

Nabors first appeared as Gomer Pyle in "The Andy Griffith Show" and then
starred in his own spinoff, "Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C." He also guest-hosted "The
Carol Burnett Show's" first episode each season. June Noel of Sotheby's
International Realty, Beverly Hills, has the listing.

other night where Barney accidently captures Brook.
When there out in the woods looking for him again
(Brook) Andy and Barney get to the top of a hill
Barney says "Bread and Butter" my son asked me what he
meant by that? I told him I didn't know but I knew the
folks on the digest could tell us...Just wonderin
                               Thanks,
                                 Mike Z.

Hi to All, I reckon I am older than dirt (44), but I
remember all but 3 of the items on the list. I also
remember chocolate candy cigarettes as well as the
white candy ones with the red tip. Does anyone else
recall them? I tell my daughter all the time about
going to the store with a quarter, and buying a 16 oz.
coke, a candy bar plus a small bag of potato chips.
Ah! the good old days.

Did you see that?......Let's git out a here!!!!....
There's just a little bit of witchery on my Mama's
side!.......Don't touch me.....it might be cathcin!!
