Hey to all my Mayberry friends.

Perhaps someone can enlighten me concerning the AGS tapes I am
receiving from the
        Columbia House video club.

I was under the impression that I would be getting all B/W episodes.
However after receiving
two tapes I am getting maybe one B/W episode and the rest of the
tape contains the color
        episodes.

Was I wishing for too much or possibly I was just plain ignorant as
to what I would be receiving.

Any info anyone can provide will be greatly appreciated as I am
considering dropping my
        membership...........

        THANKS........Bob Newman

Hey Debbie,

Do you know if Franicis Bavier (Aunt Bee) was ever married? I can
understand a person wanting to disappear to a quiet place even though a
person might be used to the big city. A person usually does not want to
be called by their character name also. I was watching Charlie Rose the
other night and Ron Howard was one there. He made a deal with a guy that
he wouldn't call him by his nickname if the guy didn't call him Opie.
BTW, the reason Ron Howard was on Charlie Rose was to talk about his
movie Apollo 13. Apollo 13 has just been formatted to be shown at IMAX
theatres and Ron Howard was really excited about that.

Lots of luck to you and yours. Goober says hey!

Hi Mike

That's episode 179 - Titled "Wyatt Earp Rides Again" - I don't think I
have it on tape anywhere, but wanted to point you to the correct title.
High Noon in Mayberry is when Luke Comstock comes limping back into town
and presents Andy with a shotgun.

This episode is where a man that Andy had arrested came back to town to visit
him. I think the one you want is "Wyatt Earp Rides Again".

Subject: Conan O'Brian on Don Knotts
To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Hi Mayberrians,

In the September 20th issue of Entertainment Weekly, Conan O'Brian has a a
quick Q&A on his Emmy hosting abilities. Here's a snippet I found pretty
humorous. You have to keep in mind Conan has a real dry wit.

Q: Don Knotts won five Emmys for his work on The Andy Griffith Show but was
never even nominated while on Three's Company. Discuss.

A: I believe that had he not tied a scarf around his neck, the Mr. Furley
character would have won seven back-to-back Emmys. Also, as Furley, he was
replacing Roper, and I think that's just a hole you can never climb out of.

Subject: Hal Smith sighting, etc.

Hal Smith was in a scene on Leave It To Beaver last night. He played the owner
of a restaurant who was sympathetic to Beaver's aversion to Brussel Sprouts.
It was such a short scene that I didn't realize it was Mr. Smith until the
scene was over. I didn't recognize his voice; I just caught a glimpse of his
profile. In the credits he was listed as Hal J. Smith. It is always a treat
to see 'Otis' and I was sorry I hadn't been paying closer attention to the
show. Sigh. I love all things connected with TAGS. Today I was at my
father's house and he and my brother and I were reciting scenes to each other
and "didja see Barney last night . . .", etc. That was a great treat because
my husband and children don't care for TAGS the way I do so don't appreciate my
humble attempts at "restaging" shows. On of our favorite quotes is "Citizen's
Arrest, Citizen's Arrest!" I know this is a long message, but please allow me
one more observation. In the Goodbye Sheriff Taylor scenes wh!
ere Barney and friends were staging hold-ups and assaults? NO ONE but Don
Knotts could have done the perfect facial expression of forced innocence ("What
do you mean, Ange?") that Barney wore. Classic.
Thank you. I'm a little high from being in the company of fellow fans.

Carol
