Subject: TAGS tapes
Date: Mon, 2 Dec 2002 01:02:55 -0600
Hi Allan and all!
Well I certainly don't want to create a moral dilemma by offering tapes. I
understand that it would be illegal for me to profit from recording off of TV
or satellite, but I've never profited from doing this. I've only asked that
my expenses be covered (new blank tapes and postage.) Would it be OK to offer
to tape TAGS for people if they sent me blank tapes to use and enough stamps
for postage to have them sent back? That way no money would be involved. It
isn't illegal to tape shows off of TV or satellite is it?
I'd appreciate your kind and gentle answers, Allan. Because if it WOULD be OK
to make an offer to tape for people if it would be a completely money-less
transaction, (sometimes called a FAVOR) I'd like to make one on the Digest in
a few weeks.
Thanking you kindly because I know you also mean to be kind,
Ellen

"Big Mac"-- one of the guys in Germany for whom the la-
dy offering TAGS home-made-videos in a previous edition
of THIS newsletter-- responds:
There are few ANDY GRIFFITH collectables of ANY kind. I
probably own most of the items that Weaver's sells-- I
refer to Tee-shirts; videos, CDs, Trading Cards, books,
Christmas Tree Ornaments and the like. Most of America,
doesn't have any interest in owning ANYTHING concerning
TAGS-- or our favorite show'd be on CBS, NBC or ABC. It
was asked in a MAJOR newspaper column this week: "Why's
it 'Nick-at-Night' only plays those dumb old TV-shows?"
THAT just about wraps it up Melody. We're "rare-breeds"
in life. We SUPPORT what we believe in. We actually BUY
the Columbia House tapes-- so there'll be more TAGS ep-
isodes available... uncut, unedited, and digitally per-
fect. We're holding our breath waiting to see the next
310 TAGS trading cards-- or the remaining 179 episodes,
from Columbia House. The dear soul who filled in the 11
episodes I could not find anywhere else meant no harm--
Allan "Floyd" Newsome provides a welcome format for the
MINORITY of America that wants MORE Andy Griffith Shows
and LESS of those other shows that people LOVE today...
but F-O-R-G-E-T, tomorrow. I have the 250 (with pilot)
TAGSs. I think I'm perfectly SANE-- my wife thinks I am
nuts-- or possessed. I don't need it ALL. I do not need
little Mayberry store-front sets-- NOT a trivia freak--
don't remember how many times anything "odd" occured on
TAGS. Just LOVE that show and want the best quality ep-
isodes available. I've WRITTEN to Columbia House, as am
sure YOU wrote to Mattell Toys. They told us both: "If
anybody'd BUY it, they'd SELL it. Columbia House SELLS
the rarely seen LUCY/DESI COMEDY HOUR; THE LUCY SHOW; &
I LOVE LUCY-- all of the episodes. TAGS rates 70 of the
249 episodes from CH. We can ALL come up with IDEAS; it
is most important to SUPPORT the idea. I dress up like
SANTA for Christmas... Frankenstein (hours just to get
my grafted-hands just right) for Halloween... and BUY a
lot of stuff from Jim Clark through the newsletter-- or
Weaver's on-line. Buy that stuff! Go SEE "The Deputy"
when Dave Browning's in town... I bet he's Scrooge SOME
place in America this month. Boy! I'd like to see THAT!
I've only SEEN Allan and Dave in videos, but they're as
important to me as "Barn'" or "An'G'" -- always thought
of THAT nickname being short for Andy Griffith being u-
nique for REMINDING me it's "JUST" a TV-show-- the BEST!
Merry Christmas and a
a Happy Mayberry from
Germany!

P.S. BUY-THAT-STUFF! AND G-I-V-E IT AS GIFTS TO OTHERS!
