I have looked back at Gomer the House Guest and it sure looks to me like they are watching TV. If you watch the scene you will see that they are all looking straight at the TV. I listen to the radio a lot and one thing I never do is look at the radio when I am listening. You can see Opie lying on the floor and he looks at Gomer and then looks back at the TV. Andy and Aunt Bee also look back and forth from Gomer to the TV. Also Gomer is sitting eating with his dish on the coffee table and facing the TV. If they were listening to the radio he could just eat at the table and still hear it. Those are my thoughts for what they are worth.
