>>>This might be old news, if it is--forgive me! But, in any case: it's BIG! I was watching the 1945 film "Christmas in Connecticut" over the holidays which featured Dick Elliott (Mayor Pike) as a judge...but that's not the BIG news!
In a crowded room seen, I believe I saw OUR OWN MR. SCHWAMP sitting in a chair smiling. I'm going to try to track down the movie to watch that part again! Can anybody confirm or deny?!<<< Keith, I cannot confirm or deny this, but I will make a comment. When this question came up before on the digest a year or two ago, I was a naysayer simply because of the number of years between the making of "Christmas in Connecticut" in 1945 and TAGS starting in 1960. However, when I was watching "Christmas in Connecticut" again a few days ago, I looked again at the Schwamp-like man sitting on the sidelines during the square dance, and I started thinking. It's hard to get a good look at the fellow, since he appears so briefly and since my copy of CIC is on video and not DVD. But he does look awfully like Mr. Schwamp, especially the hair--and have you ever seen anyone else with hair like that?? He does look younger in the movie, and if you figure that he was in his fifties (my guess) during TAGS, then it could have been him in CIC. So I have reversed my opinion on this and now believe that it is indeed our beloved Schwampster at the dance in CIC. If anyone else has an opinion, chime in! Thelma Lou (Janet) Well, it's just a theory. What's your theory? _______________________________________________ WBMUTBB mailing list [email protected] http://wbmutbb.com/mailman/listinfo/wbmutbb_wbmutbb.com http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/wbmutbb/
