I recently purchased 'Love, American Style' (Season 1, Volume 1) on DVD. One episode features Hal Smith, (Otis on TAGS) and Dorothy Neumann, (his wife Rita on TAGS), but they are in different segments. Smith plays an unnamed drunk who says that he is on his way to his AA (Alcoholics Anonymous) meeting. A CBS executive wanted to rid the character of Otis from TAGS became Otis portrayed alcoholics in a negative light. The CBS exec was also an alcoholic himself. It's ironic that one full season after TAGS went off the air that a very Otis-like character,in fact, a dead ringer, would jovially say that he is on his way to his AA meeting. Attending an AA meeting is something that Otis would never do. Brian Rodahaver One Of Maryland's Biggest TAGS Fans!!!
