Has the obvious one, of spending $300 on Mrs.' Lesch's car been
mentioned?

Then there was the $13 and a quarter he splurged on for Thelma
Lou...that cheap fur thing from Newton Monroe.

I know the Scobey fund was mentioned.   I think that was his most
charitable moment.

He gave Opie a nickel for milk, but I don't think we saw that.

He was ready to take  Andy Helen and Thelma Lou out to dinner, but I
think they ended up going to Andy's to get something out of the ice box.

He bought Opie's paper for two cents, and I think a jar of Miracle
salve.

We also never saw him drop the chunk of change for the motorcycle, but I
got the impression he bought that out of his own pocket at the auction.

Them do seem kind of like Low-Budget dates.
Who you calling cheap!  That's just frugal
>From now own its Soup AND Salad.  (he's a big spender)
