I know Barney and Quiet Sam talked about their military days, and Andy talked about being in Paris when he was in the military. Gomer, of course, joined the USMC. Ernest T. attempted to join (just for the uniform, of course), but I guess he couldn't be considered a veteran b/c his attempt to join was so rudely rejected. Andy named off some of the Mayberry veterans when getting Barney to give up his motorcycle, and I can't recall the names right now. I think there were the Milo boys on that list.
