I was listening to an episode of the radio version of Gunsmoke this evening.
You may or may not know that Parley Baer (Mayor Stoner) was Chester, and Howard McNear (Floyd) was Doc Adams. John Dehner, one of my favorite Old Time Radio actors, who starred in Frontier Gentleman and Have Gun Will Travel on the radio, had bit parts in a lot of the Gunsmoke radio plays. This evening he was playing Col. Evans from Fort Dodge. There had been some indian trouble and he said, and I quote, "The Savage Devils" I literally died laughing because the first thing that I thought of was John Dehner when he played Col. Harvey on TAGS (Aunt Bee's Medicine Man) and said, I lived among em, Them (or They're) Devils!
