Hi Neighbors Have been watching the DVD collection lately. And have noticed something for the first time after many times of seeing the shows. In the episode Elly Saves A Female, Barney goes out to the Flint farm and eventually is in the barn to talk to the girl Franky. Note he has to step over the bottom of the door frame. Note above the door...horsehoes....I think 4 maybe 5. Then come along and let's watch Barney Gets His Man episode where Barney and Andy join the State Police looking for that Brooks fellow who vows to "get you (Barney) for this". The chase eventually leads to an old abandoned barn. Watch as the boys step over the door frame and what do we see? Horseshoes above the door! Same arrangement, same number as at the Flint barn. I had a chuckle. It was a "barn again" experience, Mayberry style......or should I say "Desilu style!" Anyway, its one of those precious trivial trivialities A recent post mentioned the church bell ringing in Mayberry. Here's another trivial triviality. Can anyone remember seeing a flag actually flying on the flag pole near the church? We don't always see the top of the pole....but sometimes we do. I've never noticed old Glory waving. I think the Pike and Stoner camps need to answer on this one! Have a safe Mayberry weekend. I'm thinkin' about going to a cow pasture and watch them boys fight over a punkin, with convicts runnin' up and down blowin' their whistles. I think I'll have a Big Orange Drink. I will.
