Did we ever hear the bell any other times? My memories of ringing the bell in my home church are clear. The custodian was charged with ringing the bell. The bell rope actually hung down through a home in the ceiling of the vestibule. All us boys loved to ring the bell so almost every Sunday, he'd let one of us ring. It was just fun to have that power over that big bell, but the biggest thrill of all was when it was time to stop the bell.
