As a lunch box carrying kid back in the early 60's, I remember lots of times when mom wrapped my sandwiches in waxed paper. Baggies brand sandwich bags replaced waxed paper after awhile, but waxed paper never disappeared from our household. Baggies were okay and nifty, but waxed paper had a certain charm and purity and seemed to make mom's sandwiches taste a whole lot better. ZipLock and bags from Glad that had sliding closures, I don't recollect at all from my elementary school days.
