Just watched 'Opie and his Hobo friend' When Ebsen took the sandwich out of Opie and Andy's lunch, I was surpised to see that it wasn't wrapped in waxed paper.
"Aunt Bee, I never would have thought it of you!" It seems to not fit with Aunt Bee's image of super homemaker. She must have been a most wonderful cook, (you could almost smell the food over the widescreen), she made some of her own clothes, and fancied up the lunch basket with a checkered napkin. She seemed to have a knack for detail. So why no Waxed Paper!
