Hi Neighbors,

This unseen character deal has been terrific. Its brought about a whole new
listening awareness for names whilst I watch the show! A couple more for ya to
consider.

-Lawyer Rafe Peterson--sells aluminum siding--on the side :)
-Lawyer Clarance Polk--won't start umpiring til June
(both from Woman Speeder episode)

-Ed Simpkins--alleged wife beater that visiting Deputy Bob Rogers
predicted--and responded to. I say alleged... Did Rogers ever bring in
Simpkins? And he was "so by the book!"

Then I was going to submit Weary Willy--that tramp that "Barney run out of the
woods a few weeks ago"--I was under the impression he was not the hobo that
Opie and the boys befriended--but then I noticed Ken posting about Weird
Willy--and I thought I better research it a bit. I don't remember the hobo's
name coming up in the show--but in the episode guide on Mayberry dot com, he's
listed as Wary Willy. Weary Willy is how the closed captioning on the DVD
spells it. Anyway...interesting stuff (at least to me) I thought I would share.

That hobo episode has one of the classic lines to remember, Barney (at the
dinner table) reminds Opie....(something like)

"there's more to life than material things...there's friendship and love"

Indeed Barney....you are so right again.

Dennis
