One of my passions is reading English fiction about life in small English villages. One of my newly discovered series is by the English author Miss Read which tells about life in the small English village of Caxley. While reading today it mentioned a prayer that was said at the end of each school day. The prayer ended with "and may we always be mindful of the needs of others." This prayer was said for many generations. I thought it sounded familiar and then it hit me. They were the exact same words that Weird Willy prayed when he ate with Opie and his Merry Men. I have come across many familiar Mayberry quotes while reading my English novels. I am wondering if any of the writers for TAGS would have a British connection. They did write Malcolm into the series three times and also had a Mr. McBeevee. Would anyone have any insight on this or might it just be a coincidence.
