Now that the political silly season is here and the Mayberry mayoral race is
heating up I want to know the candidates stand on Farm Policy.

You see I believe its the failure of the Farm policy in this country that lead
to so much moonshinin' around Mayberry. Isn't it true? Every one of those
fabled moonshiner in Mayberry County was a farmer? A farmer who only wants a
decent return for his work....led by despair to sin and evil.

If those poor farmers could have made a fair livin' selling their crops they
wouldn't have been tempted to head down the road to ruin by turnin' their corn,
potatoes, and who knows what all into that devil's delight--alcohol.

Remember, Andy chastising Mr. Frisbie about not makin' a killin' in chickens,
so he resorted to moonshine? And what about Jubal..he had no choice but to
make that corn in his barn into squeezin's because the price was so far below
parity.

What do you say Mr. Stoner? What say you Mr. Pike? Neither of you seem to
miss many meals, just what do have to say to support the stewards of the land?
Will you relax the Green River Ordinance so they can sell at farmer's markets?
Will you call Ed the govenor and work for State relief for our family farmers?
The Johnson's can't keep their barn nicely painted with red ink....they deserve
better! I want answers! Not sound bytes for station YMPL either! I want to
know your stand on this issue!
