If Hal Smith was not cast for the role of Otis, my vote would have been for Edgar Buchannon, popular character actor of the time, and of course the goldbrick "Handyman" in one episode of TAGS....They could have found anyone to fill that one episode's character, or better yet, brought back "Mr. Dave" Buddy Ebson for a return appearance.....
